Cooperative Mobility Showcase 2010 - Cooperative Traffic Management Centre
The cooperative traffic management centre was the nerve centre and meeting place for the showcase event as a whole. The cooperative traffic management centre was set up on a 220 square meter exhibition stand that also provided information stands for the three IPs. The stand was in the Intertraffic hall dedicated to Cooperative Mobility.
Four times a day, there was a 20 minutes presentation outlining the future TMC of 2020, introducing the idea of cooperative systems, the traffic management operator’s and driver’s perspectives. The auditorium had a capacity of 60-70 seats.
The story was told by two actors and was presented in the form of an interview in order to explain:
-
what are cooperative systems and how they work
-
The view of the traffic situation near RAI
-
The view of the traffic management with ITS applications
-
The driver’s view
-
The TMC of the future
The video wall behind was using state-of-the-art TMC equipment and displaying different views of the traffic situation, such as a map-based online traffic state, mini bus positions together with current speed limits and VMS information, other dynamic presentations of cooperative applications and a live video stream to the safety demonstration site.
The time between the shows was also used for in-depth presentations by CVIS and COOPERS partners on e.g. issues related to traffic management.
